In Case of Emergency:

The worldwide emergency number for a mobile is 112.  Wherever you are in the world, if you find yourself in an emergency and out of signal, dial 112 and your mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you.  112 can be dialled even when your keypad is locked.

How to disable your mobile phone if it is stolen:

- Check your mobile's serial number by keying in the following digits on your phone: *#06#

- A 15 digit code will appear on the screen.  This number is unique to your handset.  Write it down and keep it somewhere safe.

- If your phone is ever stolen, phone your service providerand give them this number.  They will be able to block your handset so that even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless.  You may not get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't sell/use it, or access your details on it.
